M.S. in Environmental Management

Since 1977 the university’s M.S. in Environmental Management (MSEM) Program has trained graduates to become environmental leaders in public agencies, consulting firms, nonprofits, and industries in the U.S. and throughout the world.

The MSEM program is designed for students and working professionals who seek to further their careers in the environmental field. The science-based management curriculum enhances students’ ability to use scientific, technical, economic, and policy knowledge to analyze and address environmental projects and challenges. Areas of expertise include water and air quality, GIS, risk assessment and management, energy and climate change, sustainability and resource management, human and environmental health, solid and hazardous waste management, and ecosystem management and restoration.
