M.S. in Computer Science

Computer science graduate students at the University of San Francisco enjoy the benefits of our prime location in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley, as well as small class sizes, close interaction with faculty, and state-of-the-art facilities that feature high-tech classrooms, dedicated laboratories and high-performance computing clusters.

The M.S. in Computer Science provides students with a broad background in software development and core disciplines of computer science, from systems and distributed programming to algorithms and theory. A key feature is the Practicum - a supervised work program at a tech firm where eligible students apply USF coursework knowledge in a practical setting. Work is supervised by a USF faculty member and a corporate sponsor. As a graduate of the program, students are prepared for a position in industry or to continue studies at a PhD program. This STEM program qualifies most international students to work in the United States for 29 months after graduation.
