M.S. in Energy Systems Management

A program that provides you with the knowledge, skills and training in the economics, science and technology for clean and renewable energy. Students pursue meaningful careers in the low-carbon energy sectors.

Electric energy systems are rapidly transforming, making jobs in the energy sector among the fastest growing in the world. The Energy Systems Management equips you for energy management positions in the public, private and NGO sectors to support a low-carbon future.

The program is designed by industry experts with courses that give students a complete understanding of multiple aspects of the transition to a low-carbon economy. Classes are taught by full-time faculty as well as faculty who have experiential knowledge in the energy sector. Small classes provide you with personal attention, and we offer opportunities for research and internships.

You will gain an understanding of the technical and policy dynamics that are working to modernize the electricity grid, as well as the building and transportation sectors. This includes new policy and program development necessary to integrate distributed energy resources, such as energy storage and solar, that are environmentally friendly and profitable, and also provide security and reliability.

Energy systems is a STEM program, so that international students can work in the U.S. for 3 years after completion of the program.
